Today we had Reading High School's Trigonometry Honors Class visit with us at the airport. Our morning started with an excellent talk by Terry Sroka (airport manager) about the history of the airport and aviation in general in the Berks County area. From there the students went on to visit the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum for a guided tour through some of aviations history. Then on to the control tower for tours with ATC personnel who showed the students what an office with a window really looks like ;D Lastly we finished up in the terminal building where I spoke with the students about in flight calculations and operations using the E6B flight computer. Where and how it originated, it's relation to the slide rule, and it's uses on the ground and in the cockpit. I think they really had a great time, and hope they see a bright future after high school. Here are some pictures from the event.
