Oh My Gosh, what a disaster! So many planes damaged to varying degrees, from minor to shredded and never fly again! So sad! Check out the following link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaSYbSVE1oY&p=B6504E04F5E6D182The following report is from a Keystone Flight member and an AOPA I.T. Manager who is there: "Just back from the airport. Don't know why the 150 club guys are saying its not that bad. I guess it could be worse but from what I saw... its pretty bad. I am uploading photos now and will put the link here when they are finished. No external damage to my plane but the gust control broke so my ailerons and elevator were able to get slaped against the stops in the 70 mph winds. Security guard I talked to said a tornado was visible on the field. Have to be there early tomorrow to try and restore internet and communications to the AOPA tent. We are expecting insurance claims to start being filed tomorrow. I saw at least a dozen planes flipped and damage to control surfaces un many others. I am not flying my plane until I can get it checked out. It may have to stay in Lakeland for a few weeks since there are going to be 100's of planes needing repairs or inspections. Will come home commercial then go back and get it when it's ready and signed off." What could have been a great PR week for G.A., turns into a bust!
